I just synched the carbs on my motor (after cleaning them). I synched them at about 1100 rpm. In the driveway it ran fine. When I took put it under a load it started "bucking" at about 2500rpm then smoothed out around 3500rpm. SHould I try synching at a different rpm?

What does your manual say about it?
Did you use the manometers to sync them?

Re: 2001 Yamaha F100tlrz Synch Question

I guess my real question is this. IF my carbs were out of synch, could this cause the motor to exhibit the following symtoms. It runs smooth at idle and revved in neutral up to 4000rpm. In the water trying to get to plane it starts cutting out at about 2500rpm and struggles to get up. Once on plane it smoothes back out.
If the problem is the synch, I don't mind taking it to the dealer and letting him put his $700 manometer on it and fix it. If you tell me that ain't the problem then I will continue to work on it myself. I can rebuild the carbs, for example, if that's what you think it is.
Thanks
