2001 yamaha 9.9

Winterized kicker and had good tell tale. Just installed it back on boat and no tell tale...I can blow through the hoses except the top hose port. Also curious if I should get the wash fitting on the side. Will that push more water then using muffs. Not sure how it does not pump now

what 2001 9.9 are you talking about?
what top hose is plugged.
insects like to crawl into holes and plug them up.
use weed wacker line to shove up that passage and blow with compressed air while running on muffs
