Yamaha 225 ox66 saltwater series guessing the model is SX225TXRZ the sticker is a little faded. Here is my issue when I first bought the boat motor ran flawless for a couple tanks of gas. Then developed a mis every now and again at high speed checked fuel pressure all within spec. Checked some other stuff all good. Then it would run for 15 min fine then develop a mis to where it wouldn't get over 4k rpm. Cleaned o2 and tested all good. Replaced low pressure pumps. Still no change. Then had the injectors cleaned helped a ton only miss every once in a while then cleared up for a couple of tanks then started doing it again. Had the injectors cleaned while doing that I cleaned the tank. Got the injectors back and ran good again. 2 trips later and about 50 gallons it started a surge when I pulled into the dock at idle. Didn't think anything of it. Went out the next day and the same thing surge at idle like it had a huge cam in a race motor. Ran all day fine at WOT. Go to take it out the following weekend and it idlrs really low and any gas give it bogs down and shuts off. Pulled plugs all are wet with fuel. Checked the 3 month old low pressure pumps and they are still good not leaking when un bollted. Took injectors off to have them tested and all came back fine throw them back on and same thing low idle and any gas given bogs down. Well played with the throttle for a few minutes and got it to Rev up and now it idles at 1500rpm..... Cold or hot doesn't matter.. Any help very much appreciated!! It's going to the mechanic as soon as they get a spot open. From Florida so summer time is busy.

Top of the stbd. bank of cyl.
There's a sensor, kinda like an EGR on a car.
Black box with wire coming from the top.
Take this apart and clean the carbon off the plunger/joint.
It's hollow and needs to be cleaned.

When was the last time you drained the oil tanks and removed the sludge in the bottom?
Try cleaning this might help, might not but it can save your motor.
