I have a 2001 Waverunner 1200XLT and one of the three cylinders is not firing. The spark plug is sparking but it is always dry like it's not getting fuel. Also, the cylinder has half the compression as the other two(50PSI). Any ideas as to what could be causing this before I start taking it apart. The ski is well maintained and has just over a 100 hours on it. Thanks

Re: 2001 Waverunner XLT1200

Sounds like a power valve lost its pin. Hopefully it did not brake up and wipeout the cyl. This happened to me and I learned how to rebuild the Yamaha 1200 2 cycle.... There are after market retaining clips that are easily installed, but after the fact don't help a bunch.
Pull the rocker cover off of the problem cylinder and see if you still have a pin holding the power valve in the rocker. If you do, consider yourself lucky, and order/install the retaining clips. If the valve has dropped...... ya got some work in front of ya buddy and I'm not qualified to get you headed the right direction.
Best of luck bro!
