When accelerating engine at about 2500-3000 rpm engine will sometimes (usually when hitting pretty hard)rapidly increase rpms. have to pull back on throttle to slow it down. I have heard this is caused by inproper trim?
Input appreciated.

/engine is pushing a 01 fourwinns 210 horizon.

Out of the hole drive is down all the way according to the gauge. I hit it with throttle as rpm go up raise to middle of gauge and trim it out for optimum speed and rpm. am I not getting it on plane soon enough?

could it be caused by a throttle linkage problem?

Go out and play with the trim and try different things. That's how you learn. Without being with you, it's impossible to say if you are operating it properly.

I would also suggest you forget the gauge. Put the drive down till you hear the trim pump sound funny. Then go. start trimming up and see what happens.
