I have a 2001 OX66 200HP and want to test the trim sensor switch.
It looks mechanicaly in good shape but when the motor is fulley trimmed and the switch actuator lever is exposed I measured 5M Ohms in any position. Shouldn't it be either open or closed when looking at it with an ohm meter?

I just replaced the transfer pump (Not working) and there was 12 volts going to it when the switch on the rear of the power head was switched and held in the up position. When the switch was in the down position the voltage at the transfer pump was aprox 8~10V DC.

I didnt notice any voltage change at the transfer pump when I moved the float in the engine tank whith the key on but not running. The alarm did however sound when I had the float in the lowest position. (Empty)

I understand from prior post you have written that the engine has to be running to see a voltage change or increase to 12 V DC at the transfer pump to tranfer oil to the engine tank.

Im just curious if the trim sensor is presenting problems as well with the impedance reading I'm seeing. (5M Ohm allways)

The Boat doeas not have a trim indicator gauge or any Yamaha gauges. All gauges are aftermarket. ( Tach, Gas, Volts, spedometer)

Is this something I shoud be concerned with?

Thanks.

The resistance should change as the lever is moved , sounds like it is not functioning properly. Your service manual should give the specs and how to test
