2001 Mercury 200 2-Stoke. Bad EMN? What is that?

My mechanic say that i have a bad EMN on one of my twin 200 2 strokes. What is an EMN and how much will a new one be?

Must be a Optimax... Thats a EMM which is the brain of the motor in short.

Yeah. It is an Optimax. It sounds expensive, like the computer or something. Any idea, even ball park on price?

I am with Boobie.... what the tech says wrong with it as I have seen very very few triple nickle EMM fail

The boat is in the water. I dont have a trailer. The tech wouldnt venture to say but it sounded like its going to be expensive. Is a triple nickle different than a stock EMM? I have had the boat for 9 months and had both motors running only once so far i also bought new gauges for the helm. Are these bad motors? Ive had mixed reviews so far. They only have about 150 hours on them.
