I am new to boating and I purchased my boat about a year ago, so I'm still learning what makes these things tick.

This weekend I had my boat on the water and for the first time the 2 cycle oil reservoir over flowed. It was all over the inside of the engine and when I would tilt the motor up to run in shallow water it would start to pour out of the hole going into the motor. I checked and the cap was on tight. I am going to inspect it for small cracks, due to other post I have found.

Is there anything else I should check?
I found a black tube piece that was about 3 to 4 inches in the engine area that looks like it has a white piece inside of it. Does that have anything to do with the 2 cycle oil system? If so should I replace it?

Could this 2 cycle oil system overflowing cause the engine to choke out?

Also if someone could send me a diagram or a picture of what this system should look like that would be great!

Any help would be appreciated!

I just developed the same problem with my 2003 200 horse. Did you find any resolution?

Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing I could find was the oil reservoir cap was a possible cause of the problem.

I currently have my boat in the shop and when they tell me what was wrong I will post it here.
