2001 mercury 125 2+2

good evening all,i have a problem with my mercury 125 not wanting to rev up when throttle is used
it will rev to about 1500 revs then stall, if i accelerate then push the choke button on my control it will carry on accelerating and reaches 5200 revs and run normally but if the revs drop below 2000 revs it wont rev up again unless i use the choke again

if someone pumps the priming bulb while i accelerate it will rev like it should
where can i start to sort this problem out TIA

I would be looking at your fuel Pump

Start looking at your fuel system. Make sure your suction point and/or ADBV aren't clogged solid or stuck. Inline filter if you have one. As stupid as this sounds, primer bulb in correct orientation (seen it happen, I dunno how anything ran with it backwards). Any work recently done?
