I was able to buy a 2001 Caravelle 188 with a Mercruiser 4.3 at a liquidation sale after a dealership her in Texas went out of business during our drought this summer. I got a good deal, about 6k off. The problem is I had to do all the paperwork through a different dealership and did not get any manufacturer info on the motor. I have a Skeeter with a Mariner 115 and a duck boat with a 20 Merc but they are both outboards. <br /><br />I have never had an IO and I don't have a clue how to maintain it etc. It was "winterized" by draining all the water. Do I have to do anything to un-winterize it.<br /><br />What kind of fluid maintenance is required? It appears to be more of a car engine than a boat motor. It has a dipstick etc. Is that correct and if so, do I use automobile motor oil? :confused
