Last fall I noticed when accelerating the motor sounded like it was running way to rich, some call this 4-stroking I beleive. But after warming up this would go away.

Well after using it this spring and removing the spark plugs the bottom two plugs were wet with water, including the theads. These bottom plugs were a milky, while top two were a light brown. Compression on all 4 cylinders is very close to 145.

I am in the process of replacing the two exaust cover gaskets. Was this a common problem with these motors? Cracked blocks a common problem? Any other gaskets I should be replacing?

Thanks

I have the same motor.Mine had lost a bit of power and the bottom plug always looked new.it took me forever to find the problem. It was the exhaust divider plate gaskets and after replacement it ran fine. There was probably a 1" tear in it.Was a real pain cleaning the old gasket material off of all the pieces.Don't use a steel scraper on it,you will damage the aluminum.Use plastic or make a copper scraper out of a small piece of pipe.
