Scott - You may ahve to dig a bit but the answer is here. Try the red Search function at the top of the page. Look for posts made by JB or dhadley or Joe Reeves. I saw a post within the past couple of weeks on this.<br /><br />If I remember right most of the serious problems were with the V6 FICHT motors (not the carb motors). However OMC had some rather serious quality control problems in this period which would, I think, effect all motors but I have no personal experience with these. I know the posters referred to 1999 & 2000 but I don't remember if Bomb got them cleared up by 2001. If I were you I would take the serial number off of the motor and consult with an OMC mechanic. Also find out from the seller if he has documentation of any factory recalls and confirmation that the associated fixes/updates were done.
