2001 Johnson 70hp

Gentlemen,<br /><br />I am considering the purchase of a boat rigged with a 2001 Johnson 70hp. They claim it only has 30 hours and it looks new inside and out. <br /><br />Am I at any unusual risk with the OMC bankruptcy thing?? Did they build crappy motors during all that turmoil?? Or are my chances with this motor as good as any other motor??<br /><br />Please help.<br /><br />Thanks.

The 3 cyl. looper 70 is a great engine. It has remained basically in it's present configuration since it's intro. in 1968 or 9 as a 55 hp.<br />The 2001's are warranted by BMCA. (Bombardier Motor Corporation of America).

I'd buy one in a heartbeat. There are thousands of them out there.<br /><br />I've owned a couple and my father currently owns one.
