2001 johnson 150hp sea pro leaking dark grey oil above planing fin at connection

hi i am burning of $600 of 2 year old gas...a little milky and motor runs a little rough at times. put new gar oil in last month with no signs of water. have had a dark grey oily sludge coming out of the leg connection above the planing fin. would this be unburnt old gas and oil mix? sludge smells like oil ..does not stink. anyone have a comment on what is causing this to happen. thank you

If it smells like oil or gas, it is 2 cycle oil, fogging oil residue etc, and is not an issue. It should clear up. If it doesn't you will need to investigate to see whereit is coming from.

Running 2 year old gas may cost you more money.
