2001 Honda BF8 upgrade to 9.9

Hello New member here. I took out my restricter plate when cleaning my carb. I know the displacment is the same as the 9.9. Is the carb jetting all I have to change? What parts should I order? Any input would be a major asset to myself. I just love this little Honda. Thank You Very Much.

Never mind after 5 days of no answer I drove 25 miles to lookl it up. I quess no one knows the answer here. It would have been nice to know before spending the time and gas. It's not hard at all. In fact my dealer gave me the parts used to do it. Thank God someone out there helps.

Do you suspect a conspiracy to deny you the knowledge, Irish? Do you think that someone here of the 74 people who looked at your post had an answer and decided to keep you in the dark?

It is really rare, but it does happen that someone asks a question that none of us can answer.

I will see if I can arrange a refund of what it cost you to ask, since you seem to feel that you were ripped off.

EvilIrish, would be so kind to share the information you gained w/us. I almost piped in earlier, but would not have know what I was really talking about. I had talked w/a sales man when I bought my new 225 Honda, just is passing time and he said he thought you could do it w. just a dremel tool, widening out the restrictor plate. Now, you have me really curious about how it it done, so please share with us.
If I don't get my spark problem (on a lower thread) solved, I may be in the market for a new engine. I mentioned Tohatsu to my wife and she asked if it was grey to match the big Honda, must be a woman thing.
