This is just a search for information. If the oil injection pump on a 2001 200hp FICHT engine quit would the light come on / warning buzzer go off? It seems like the low oil sensor is BEFORE the injector. How would you know if the actual oil injector quit?????

Also.. any idea on how much pressure is in the oil lines to the cylinders aka after the oil injector? Cant be much right? 3-5lbs?

The oil lift pump is what supplies the oil and pressure to the injector that's why sensor is before injector.

RK, I hope that answered your question from another post.

Yea I think you indicated there was not way to detect if the injector pump quits. However after reading many many posts here and other forums I read [ not sure if it's true but makes sense ] that the EMM not only listens to the pressure switch but also listens for pushes from the injector. That is to say somehow it can detect if it is in fact moving / pulsing. It must be able to see the change in impedance in the circuit and notice when it stops and throw the no oil warning. I am going to disconnect mine injector while it's idling for just a second and see if it fact does that. can't do it now.. way below freezing :[

i had on a 2000 V6150 ficht ram a very slight leak in the oil supply line between the tank and the pump. the EMM detected it throwing a no oil warning and throwing the engine in SLOW mode. that happened with such a slight leak that the actual oiling was not in danger. the EMM seems to be very sensitive in detecting faults in the oil circuit . i agree there will be no sensor when the actual injector quits or cloggs , but i guess the EMM will notice the pressurure change and take measures.

all in all the system seems to be very well designed and you can trust that in all practical cases of a hazardous malfunction in the oil supplly to the engine the EMM will notice it and give a warning as well push the engine in SLOW mode.

btw : a 200 V6 2001 ficht in good condition is a masterpiece of engiinering when you understand the engine !

I agree! I've always loved getting my hands dirty did a lot of work on cars. Really neat to read all about this engine. The weak link I see is if it doesn't detect the oil injector quitting but I gotta believe they would be on top of that!! One way or the other it must see that. But I will for sure post when I find out. Too bad that won't be for 2 months here in Michigan!
