My 2001 Evinrude 30 HP 4 stroke E30EL has gas in the oil. I changed the oil and the level went up beyond what I put in there and it smells of gasoline. What could cause this?

Go to the Engine FAQs Forum and read about 4 strokes "making oil".

Running to cold, not broken in or bad fuel pump.
