2001 Bayliner Capri 185 Sport

I thinking of purchasing this boat this weekend. I'm going to go take a look at it and have a friend coming with my that is a boat mechanic. It has a bimini top, wave tower, and includes the trailer.

My question is how much is this boat worth? He is asking $8500. This will be my first boat and his meant to be a family boat. I appreciate any help.

You can check out www.nadaguides.com for an idea. I find their prices to run high for my area, but they say $7700 is average retail for that boat

Does the 185 sport have a 4.3 or a 3.0? oldjeep and I are in the same state and I find NADA to be on the low end in some cases fantasy land low.

The NADA guide lists both power plants as "standard", so the value won't change based on which engine it has.

With the options mentioned(and a couple assumed to be there), the range was $7950-$9075(with trailer), based upon my Georgia zip code.

NADA is worthless, IMO. look at similar boats online in your market. Condition is everything, in my market 15 yr old clean open bow boats are up to $10k. Hard to find a clean one of any age at $5k.

If it has the 4.3 the price sounds good. With 3.0 water sports will be limited, with a full load of passengers.
