Hi everybody,
A friend of mine has a 2001 sport craft with twin 350 horizon inboards.
He started it up for the first time this season last week and went for a short ride. The port engine had a steady miss. When he returned there was a little oil in the bilge. He cleaned up the oil and installed new plugs in the engine.
He asked me to go for a ride with him. The engine still had a miss and when we returned to his slip we found about 2 qts. of oil in the bilge. The oil is blowing out of the dipstick tube. I did a compression test and all cylinders had 210 psi but #6 was 25 psi . I checked the valves for broken springs and they are good. I think It has a hole in the piston. Do you think a clogged injector could of caused this. I am going to inspect the cylinder with a video scope and do a cylinder leak down test this weekend. I am pretty sure the piston has a hole in it , but what caused it is a mistory.
