I have a new to me 2001 javelin bass boat with this engine. Previous owner said that when turning sometimes the low oil alarm would sound so he cut the wire to the oil tank and also cut the horn wire for whatever reason that i spliced back together.Givin the history of the vro I decided it would be best to bypass all together and mix in the tank. So far i have removed the oil tank, plugged off the oil line and disconnected the the 4 wire harness at the vro. My question is this, should the lights still illuminate on the system check guage? And when shorting the over temp sensor to ground, I get a light on the dash but no tone from the horn. The horn itself works when turning on the key. Should I have possibly left the 4 wire harness connected? I dont really care about any of the lights on the dash except the temperature and horn function of it. Hope I made sence
