2001 0x66 light on winky blink

Motor runs good mid to high range but when shut down it will some times start loading up but never dies, I ordered the diagnostic cable to check codes and a service manual also but the light indicator just stays on and does not flash a code any ideals? I have checked for proper location and fit twice plus YouTube video to make sure it connected right. And I have clean 02 and changed plugs and filters.

might want to explain what you are calling load up, because when you shutdown a motor it is not running anymore

When you come off plan to a idle then the idle is clean then starts smoking more and more like over fueling but not real bad. I bought the test cable to check for codes but instead of staying off then blink either a fault code or just a no code the light is just on all the time as it’s running on the hose

as far as the smoking goes, have you checked the oil linkage setting?

Yes and adjusted to Yamaha specs and that helped a lot

My main concern is the harnes used to pull codes while running the light just stays lite and does not blink even a code 1 that there’s no codes.
