I just bought a 2000 Yamaha Suv with 74 hours on it. After riding for approximately 45 minutes, the engine suddenly cut out on me. It started back up immediately, but would only run at low rpm. I brought to shore and checked things over. I remembered reading about vapor lock in these machines. I removed gas cap. Restarted engine and it ran fine for rest of day. I find the vapor lock reason difficult to believe. Because I filled the tank about 2 hours prior. I've been reading about lean oil mixtures due to a variety of reasons such as shrinking lines, pump failure, disconnected lines etc. obviously this problem can lead to engine failure. My question is, Could the engine cut out be due to lean oil mix as the engine was getting warmer? (starting to seize) should I install oil pulp block off kit and mix fuel? Is there a way to install an idiot alarm for lean mix?

Any help would be appreciated...
