I just had the Marina replace my water pumps and thermostats in my Yamaha 225hp ox66 (twins) to the tune of $900.00. I am pretty sure that I could do the job in the future. Here's the question, I have tried to find a manual for these engines but I only see years to 98. Where can I get one for 2000 and what would be the best manual. Second they describe two types of water pumps, one is stainless is there a difference? And last are there any tricks I should know about before I charge into this in a couple of years.
Thanks.

it sounds like you got robbed at gunpoint. Not sure about the manuals, but water pump kits are under $50 each, and i would expect an hour of labor per engine, at 60-75 and hour. Yikes.

did that 900 come with a date with his daughter?

Actually that cost should have been around $400-$500, parts and labor unless they ran into problems. But due to the years of the engine, there shouldn't have been any problems.

Harmon,
It looks like you have some cash give away. Can you send some to Scout at Australia so they can get a new motor. :D or send me a blank check !!!
