Howdy folks,
Looks like an impressive group of wrench heads here....

My 2000 xl1200ltd has developed an issue. After its warm and been run a good bit, if I shut it down for 30 min or so, she cranks up fine but as soon as I'm into a partial throttle power drops off (bogs down). If I mess with it a bit IE feather the throttle and ease the rpm up, it will eventually operate normally. That is until I park it again.
I was thinking fuel pumps, vapor lock, ect. The vapor lock I feel I eliminated by opening the tank cap and still having the same issue. So, I was thinking.... got to rebuild the carbs and replace needles and diaphragms. I'm hoping I'm on the wrong track. The local dealership quoted me parts for the job at over 600.00 usd !!! OUCH!
I could sure use some advice here.....
Thanks in advance!

call Greater Yamaha, ask for John Highfield and get a quote for the parts you need from him

thanks, I'll call him up.
Does this sound like I'm on the right track for my power loss issue?

I'm not familiar with that model - so I don't want to comment. If that's an engine that has power valves on it - I'd recommend checking them just in case.

I do know John will have better prices than any local dealer though. :D
