This engine had a water intrusion according to the owner which is also a family member he did everything the techs told him to do. However when I got the ski and checked it out there was damage to some of the diaphrams in the carbs. I have completely rebuilt the carbs. It will fire up and after running for a minute or 2 when it is reved up it accellerates very high and wont slow down until you kill the engine. I have even unhooked the TPS to no avail. Almost forgot it is a 951. All help appreciated. Thanks!

could be a bunch of things, vacume leak, bad cable, out of synk carbs, throttle stop. all come to mind also if it has been converted to pre mix and it has the twin cable that goes to the carbs and the oil pump but the pump is removed the tension is not strong enough to pull the cable by the carbs alone, the oil pump also has a spring that helps pull the cable.

Re: 2000 Sea Doo GTX

are you running it with the gas turned off.
the 951 engine will run away if you have the gas valve turned off and the engine leans out= less gas, more air.
make sure the gas is on when you run it.
as noted above make sure it is not a cable linkage issue, make sure the gas lines are correctly routed,
Good luck
Mike

Thanks for the tips however I have checked for cable problems, carbs are in sinc, the oil pump is still in place however I will double check for a vac. leak or lean condition however it acts as if it is advancing by itself? Thanks Matt!

either a vacume leak or fuel obstruction from the tank to the carbs
