2000 model 90 hp mercury wire diagram needed

I need a diagram for the electrical on a 2000 model mercury.
I am installing a used side mount control, and it will not shut off the engine

Look for a wiring diaghram for your motor, or something close in year on the maxrules web site. The usual spark killer is to ground the black/yellow wire at the ign key.

I am not having any luck on maxrules
is there a good place to download a service manual thanks

Like Chris said....black wire with yellow stripe at the switch box on side of engine. Disconnect that and touch it to metal on motor while running and it should stall. If it doesn't, the box is bad. If it does, ground it at switch to see if you have wiring problem or faulty switch.
