Its also not for real light boats unless you like your bow riding high. Its a heavy motor.

4 mpg with that motor on a dispacement hull would be a stretch. What are you looking to put it on.

Solid would an understatement. I ran a 225 for a while. Same platform. Bulletproof and heavy.

Nope as its setup from factory for 93 octane 91 octane being minimum. This is a motor from Merc hi-po division and is not designed to pull skiers or tube with.

:highly_amused: .......no way maybe 2.5 at best

Is there a market out there for this motor. I love the boat. dont care about going fast would love to trade for a opti or HPDI. what could you expect to get for thsi motor. its in great shape and runs like a top. has a torquemaster lower unit. 4 blade trophy prop. Very clean.

Depends where and when you are selling it. The big HP heavy mercs dont have a very good secondary market price just because theres a limited amount of boats they can be used on and the fact they are gas hogs. Not everyone is a glutton for punishment.

I sold my damn near perfect 225 for $2500 and that was with a brand new lower and a new prop. Took a few months to find a buyer at that price too. I couldnt touch a similar condition 150 HDPI for twice that.
