Well it happened again. I have a 2000 model ? (maybe a 99) 50 HP. This is the fourth time since the warranty expired that my tilt and trim quit. Each time I have removed the pin from the bottom and top of the power unit. I then turned it upsides down and re-installed it and it works fine. The unit always works good except when this happens. This always fixes it but Im tired of this. A friend of mine who works at a hydraulic depot said it may be low on fluid or an air bubble in it. Does anyone know how to fix this problem. If it is low fluid how do you add it? I have not seen any leaks and this only started a couple mos after the warranty expired. When this happens the motor still works just the shaft doesnt move. I guess this motor will be three yrs old this spring and is the only problem I have had. Any suggestions?

I THINK ITS LOW ON FLUID. THERE SHOULD BE A BIG SCREW ON THE MOTOR PART OF THE UNIT. THATS WHERE YOU ADD THE FLUID.

ONLY ADD WITH THE TRIM AND TILT RUN ALL THE WAY UP.

The fill port is directly under the T&T motor facing to the rear, should be 2 screw slots for flat blade screwdriver, the upper screw is the fill port, fill with tilt cylinder fully extended. Cycle the unit about 5 times and recheck fluid.

Best stick with the manufactures brand. Yet, I've used LubriMatic with no problems.

To all, no more ALL CAPS. My better half was looking over my shoulder and said "that's annoying". Ya OK for her to say, she can type 80 words a minute.
