2000 60 hp Johnson j60plsse

This motor has a one piece pan and need to know how to disc shift rod, drop lower unit, and replace water pump. First time on this motor for me. Any info to keep me out of trouble appreciated. Unable to find anything on search.

There is a plastic bar going to a curved rod under carbs STB side.
Unhook front side of plastic bar & where curved bar enters
the intake remove the pin (Bobby pin) & slide the
curved rod in towards intake & that should release
the shift rod.

Had to think a minute about what you said. Now it sounds much easier than I thought it would be. Don't have to undo the small bolt I can see but can't get to. Guess it's good to know some things. Must get me a manual.

Any other tips I can use on the water pump/impeller replace?
