2000 Johnson 25hp 3 Cyl No Spark

I have a 2000 Johnson 25hp 3 Cyl Tiller Steer with no spark. I had a mechanic come look at it and he told me the powerpack was gone. I purchased a new powerpack and still do not have any fire. Surely someone has had this problem. Can you help? I have read a few threads and will try bypassing the kill switch tonight to see if it is bad.

Without properly troubleshooting the system you can waste a lot of time and money. You need to get or borrow the OEM manual and use the troubleshooting section to repair your engine.
There are several ign componets that can cause your problem, you need to check components properly to find the problem.

Thanks. I have found a Johnson/Evenrude voltage and resistance chart to do some narrowing down. I checked the reading from the Powerpack and it looks good. I am getting power to the coils, however I am not getting any power out of the coil to the spark plug wires.

If you are getting voltage to the coils and no spark from the coils, it sounds like a bad coil. It seems funny that all the coils would go at the same time, but stranger things have happened. Check the ground contacts for the coils, make sure they are clean and tight.

Thanks..we are not exactly sure if we are testing the powerpack correctly.

That motor uses an electric eye type of system, similar to but not the same as the 90-175hp 60? blocks. You need the proper tools to troubleshoot as well as the service manual for reference unless you want to keep buying parts until its fixed.
