Hi,

I have a chance to buy a 2000 model yr low hrs Honda 4-stroke Jet outboard that looks perfect for what I need.

Here's my question: All the newer Honda Jet outboards have a fresh water flush inlet for after running in salt water. Without one, my understanding is that the only flush option is to back up into a body of fresh water to flush, which is not an option for me... Anyone familiar enough with the 2000 circa Honda BF90 Jet outboard to know if it's got a fresh water flush inlet???

(and the answer to why don't you just go look at it/ask the owner, is it's 2 hrs away, and the seller is the owner's widow who just wants rid of it :)

Thanks in advance for your help!

There is a round rubber plug on the back of the motor cowling. There is a hole that a flushing adaptor screws into to flush the motor with fresh water. Do not run the motor when flushing with the adapter.

Thanks, Nick! Even w/o the benefit of the engine s/n I'd pretty much concluded from the Honda manuals I WAS able to find on line that there was likely to be a fresh water flush on the 2000 models ... so tomorrow I'm off to repower.
