2000 Ficht could Stator fry voltage Regulator?

DFI still has my EMM, it was over charging and they honored warranty, They said the biggest enemy to the voltage rect/regulator is water flow or a bad impeller, they "fixed" this emm last October and back then I installed a new water pump and both batteries.
They still say the same statement, poor water flow, so I checked the water legend, in/out the Fuel Vapor Sep. and confirmed water flows in and out into the mid section.
But today I contacted a local tech and said the stator could "fry" the regulator.
Is there any other components in the charging system (Stator, Capacitor, Filter Module, Coils, etc) that could be related to destroy the regulator?
Thanks in advanced

What does DFI say about the stator frying the regulator ?? I'd trust them more than the tech.

Hello Boobie
I've called twice being concerened and the response was the biggest enemy it's cooling water, i've checked water flow and it's plenty. the stator's biggest issue would be low charge and my case it's overcharge, I also asked what were the chances the new regulator was defective, he said not common but possible. And I agree, they're great and helpful, hope they find the problem

To make you feel better I've always had good luck with them folks. Seems they will always work with you.

That's wright, when I called them about the volts were up to +16 and got a check engine light, he said it's still under warranty, just bubble wrap it and send it in to have it checked, at the same time I verified the water flow was unrestricted, he said the Fuel Vapor Sep. tends to clog and restrict water flow. I checked a section at a time, from the port mid section tube into the vapor sep. and out, from the vapor sep. connected a hose barb in between in/out of EMM hoses and water flows plenty, then the hose to the "y" and back in the starboard side mid section plate, then flushed water again with the hose barb and all the hoses in place and water flows immediately and lots of it.
Today I bought a digital infrared temp pointer, and I wanted to start the other engine and point the EMM voltage reg. side and see what kind of temp it reads and compare to the one they're fixing. I was hoping other members or techs in the forum jump in with advices. I'd hate to take advantage of DFI's generosity and would like to eliminate all possibilities from my part and hope it's just a defective regulator.
Thanks so much for your replies.

Well, finally in the water, got my EMM back from DFI, warrantied replaced the voltage regulator, I did verified the water flow step by step no problems there, also took the boat to a cert.tech to inspect the stator, capacitor and ignition wiring he found to problems either. I called DFI to thank them for the job and sending it back to me before our vacation and they did, I asked if the stator could have been responsible and said no, and the EMM had no overheating codes so they troubleshooted the voltage regulator and yes sometimes they might be defective even brand new, replaced it and so far goog to go.
