Hello,
I'm considering buying a 2000 25hp saltwater series Evinrude.
I can't get to the motor and don't know what the shaft length is.
Does anyone know the lengts available for that year?
I have a 1994 Johnson 15 on my 10.4 Caribe RIB and the shaft length is perfect.
It's time for me to have some more ponies.
Thanks

Have the present owner measure from the underside of the transom brackets..... the portion of the brackets that would normally rest on top of the transom..... down to the cavitation plate (plate just above the propeller).

In the range of 15" = Short Shaft

In the range of 20" = Long Shaft

In the range of 25" = Extra Long Shaft

They made both 20" and 15" shaft lengths. Can you get the model number from the seller that will tell you the shaft length.
