I suspect that my raw water pump went bad. Can I tear it down and just replace the impeller or do I have to buy a whole pump??

How do you test the water pump?

Supply pump? The impellor is a consumable item that should be replaced annually. Undo the 4 screws holding the casing on and the two bolts for the bracket. The impellor and seal can be replaced. If it's failed try and track down the broken vanes. 5 minute job

Sorry, Thanks Don for posting the correct link. I will check them in future. As an aside if you are not an expert with the spanners but fancy doing as much as possible yourself. Buying the proper Volvo Penta manuals is really worthwhile they are very easy to follow and tell you what to do every x hours, to winterize etc all with photos and troubleshooting. They were worth every penny to me. You can get them from the volvo penta site in the link previous.

Regards

Chris
