2000 saltwater series 200 hp 2 stroke.Absolutely love the motor.Recent routine maintenance ,replace all fuel filters including vst and fuel pumps and plugs. At 31-3300 rpms and 18-20 mph engine sounds like its working harder than when I bring rpms up to 35-3600 and 22-25mph.The motor quiets and smoothes out at the higher rpms.Probably normal but its my first Yammy, always been a Johnnyrude guy.Its pushing a 208 Grady white Adventure so its not a lightweight boat .Any concerns?? The Seav2 hull doesn’t like to run at slow speed. 18-20 mph is barely on plane. Still have a lot of running surface in the water

Cruising speed for my 226 is 4300 rpm @ 27 kts. (31mph).

Thats kinda what I was thinking, thanks.Unfortunately the bay I run in is almost always choppy with pretty consistent ferry wakes so 4300rpm is typically a beating of a ride.Guess I can try to keep it up a few thousand rpms till it sounds less laboring.Charlie

It took me a bit to figure out the hull rides better with speed. Don’t be afraid to get up on top and run it.
