I wanted to know about my recirc valves on my engine . I notice that some of the lines attach to a part of the fuel pump and crank case . Does the recirc system use part of the fuel pump ? What is the best way to test the recirc system ? I did notice that when I pulled the hose off the pulse unit for the oil pump there was a little dark black oil in it . when I shook the hose a few drops came out , is this normal ? I put a hose on the oil pulse unit in the crank case and I was able to pull and blow air in both directions . If my fuel pump was bad could this effect my recuirc system ? My clymer manual don't tell me much about it and I have a shop manual in the mail but will take a week or so to get here . Thank's for your input

Not sure but I thought they went from various places on the block to each cyl intake to burn off unspent fuel/oil from the nooks and crannies. Just use alcohol and a sryinge (sp?) to clean each valve and make sure to do them one at a time and reinstall correctly. Blow out each hose for a giggle too.
Good Luck

My 1995 175 factory manual doesn't detail the recirc system very well.

JJB, the recirculating system circulates unatomized fuel from the intake manifold of each cylinder to the transfer ports of another cylinder. On my V6 Johnny, the middle cylinder manifold feeds the upper cylinder, the top cylinder manny feeds the bottom cylinder and the bottom cylinder manny feeds the middle cylinder. It is the same for each cylinder bank.

Normally these are maintenance free or at least low maintenance
