200 Yamaha ox66 SSII prop ???

[Tugted]

I was told that i should change over to a mercury prop because they perform better than yamaha props. My 21 contender with a 19in wheel turns 5000 rpm and i have tried changing engine heighth. The 17 in wheel will turn 5500 rpms but the speed is down by 2 mph. Any suggestions, if so email me.

Hello<br /> sounds like its propped about right with the 17. if it is a ssII prop it should be about 15 1/4 dia.you can try a 13/34 by 21 and see . the ssII props usually get a better bite on the water in heavy seas than the standard props. I have never seen a merc prop out perform a yamaha prop but if you really really need the extra then try it .<br /> good luck and keep posting
