Have you verified oil consumption? Are you 100% it's using oil? I use a kabob stick to check mine on a regular basis. I, also, recently changed my VRO, and I am kind of paranoid about the oil use. I verify each time before I go out, and when I get back to make sure it is using oil like it should.

JMO, I do not think there is any adjustment on the VRO. Make sure the gas line has no restrictions, so it has the chance to mix the gas and oil correctly. Pull the plugs and see if any are fouled. Unburned gas and oil smoke more than burned gas and oil. The motor should not appear to smoke excessively at cruising speed, and right after you come down to idle.

Re: 200 ocean runner smokey

i checkede out the oil usage it appears good but it does not use as much oil now that i have replaced the vro and also i went out of an inlet here ran about 35 miles to the next inlet about 25 knots all the way and when i stopped it started to smoke again and it is mixed because of the smell it used to do this a little before i replaced the vro now it seems worse could it be that the mech. that tuned up my boat about 8 months ago adjusted my motor to the old bad vro help
