I PUT MY BOAT ON THE WATER TODAY AND IT RAN GREAT UNTIL I TRIED TO BRING IT IN. IT WOULD NOT IDLE.I KEPT TRYING TO START IT AND IT WOULD REV WAY UP AND THE IDLE WOULD NOT COME DOWN. WHEN I TRIED TO PUT IN GEAR AND GO IT WOULD KEEP STALLING.IT IS AN 1987. THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

Take off your cowling and move the throttle back and forth and look to see if all the throttle linkages are responding properly. Sounds like a loose screw or something is stuck.
