20' Flyaway HELP

I recently came into the position where I can repair a wooden 20' Flyaway sail boat. It was built from a kit, I believe, and I want to know if anyone can help me out with a little problem. The transom is rotted and needs to be replaced. I have little experience and have no connections. Are there any internet resources available for this particular boat design? I believe the original transom came pre-built as part of the kit, and I would love to get a hold of one. Problem is, it is a very old design and a pre-built transom might cost a lot. Please reply!

Here is a link to the Flyaway web site. It appears they only sale plans and epoxy so you might want to find your self a good carpenter.

Flyaway Link

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks Mike, I think I might have to have someone build me a new transom. Do you think that seacast is a viable option? A pourable transom replacement might be cheaper and easier if didn't want to hire a professional.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the seacast product.
My suggestion would be to buy the plans then attempt the replacement yourself. If you run into any real trouble, then consult a carpenter.

Best of luck and regards,
Mike

I just came across the old plans that came with the boat. Problem solved! ... I think! I'm going to have a friend take a look at the design. Thanks for the help!

-Mark
