I am considering this boat. It came with a 5.0 litre V-8 but it was replaced professionally with a 5.7. 2 years ago. The drive is OMC, it has a stainless steel prop, is this good or bad? What type of HP would be expected from such an engine? What top speed (2 persons)? How heavy (towing)? I think Larson has a good reputation? Any comments? It is VERY clean and VERY quiet (no lifter ticking nothing but smooth sounding under hood).
Any responces will be great. Thanks. :)

I think you can expect somewhere between 240 and 270 ponies from that motor.

Stainless prop = good. Depending on who you talk to, you'll hear that the stainless can give you as much as 1-2mph additional over an identical aluminum. It is more brittle. A slight strike to an alum. prop will just take a chunk out. The same impact to a stainless will drop a blade.

Somebody else will have to chime in on boat weight.

You didn't post prop pitch/diameter. Hard to estimate top speed without that info. Properly matched though, you ought to be low 40's, on the top and still have a decent hole shot.
