Okay guys, I'm in the process of replacing my tilt/trim motor, 2 wire. The wire ends are fitted with Packard 56 connectors and somehow while installing new motor on the entire assembly, I managed to step on the new wire and break one of the connectors. I'm ready to install the T/T assembly back on my boat, what can I do, other than replacing the connector? I guess I'm asking if i can simply just cut the male and female ends off and connect them with a butt splice? (I have some shrink tubing and 3M butt splices laying around). I found the connector online and ordering it is not a problem, if that's what I need to do, I was just shocked that one $.19 connector was going to cost $3.50 to ship. Thanks for any help, Chris.

What are we working on, other than a trim/tilt motor? Not all are the same.

Why not go to RadioShack and buy a molex connector and pins. Install the new connectors and go boating. Or go to any auto store and buy watertight connectors.

This is what I have on the T/T motor, I was trying to find out if I can just cut off and splice?
