2 stroke winterizing?

I know this topic is very much discussed and debated already. I have a 2 stroke 90 evinrude outboard. It has marine stabile in the gas and oil mixed. I will change the lower end fluid, but my question is if the fogging is necessary? Wouldn't the gas oil mixed do the same thing as fogging?

Not needed IMO. Fogging is overrated.
Edit: unless the layup is a year or two..

fogging cost nothing to speak of ... keeps the innards oily and feels good 55 years + boating I always fogged the outboard but strangely I never bother about the 2 stroke lawn mower and they never complain

Lawnmowers usually fall apart before the engine kicks the bucket.

IF OB is stored in a warm condition and no chance of condensation probably doesn't matter much.

Fogging keeps rust out of the bearings in the crankcase. The modern motors are pretty adverse to rust, so I expect it to be a good idea to fog 'em.

I never fogged my '58 Johnny, since fogging hadn't been invented. Heck that motor fell into the salt water while running at high speed, and no damage was done, so fogging was obviously superfluous.
