Re: 2 stroke to petrol ratio 6HP mariner

Irish;

That s/n comes up as a Belgium made engine made in 1997:

Frrom here:

http://download.brunswick-marine.com/download/dosearch/@isnew/desc?mod=17&lang=EN&categories=Outboard$

Select OUTBOARD US & EUROPE SOURCED _ 1963-2005 and scroll down to 1997 and for 15 (2S) you will see that the starting s/n for 1997was 09927000 and as 1998 is a higher number than yours, yours was made in 1997.

Parts listing:

http://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury-outboard/497.cfm

You will see the plugs as item 16 under IGNITION COMPONENTS

Service Manual P/N: 90-827242

http://1manual.com/Mercury manuals/Service Manual PDFs/TwoStroke/827242r1/cover.pdf

You must have Adobe Acrobat reader installed to use this manual. If you scroll down to the lower part of the opening page, you will see the various engine components in red. Click on the one you want and when the first page opens, click on the "Save As" icon at the top LH corner of the page and you can save it to your computer.

See the mix ratio under Specifications in the Service Manual.
