I have a Yamaha 175 V6 with oil injection. I just bought this motor and was wanting to run 2 stroke synthetic oil. Would it harm the motor if I do not flush the old dino oil out and just top off the tank with synthetic?

Thanks in advance
Bruce

I don't know anything about Yamahas but why are you wanting to run synthetic? Is it not performing well on standard oil? If it ain't broke I sure wouldn't try to fix it.

As your motor is specified for a certain oil quality, this is the type of oil you should use. Use well known quality, no discount qualities.

It will not benefit from the extra strength in synthetic oil but it sure will suffer if you go below standard.

Oil isn't just oil. But good oil is good.
