2 stroke mix for 5hp suzuki

Hello,

Just bought a used 5 hp 2 stroke Suzi for my little dory. Are they 25:1 or 50:01 fuel ratio. The guy I bought it off said 25:01 but I normally use 50:01 in my Johnson 150.

I don't remember any Suzi that used 24:1, CT. But that doesn't mean there never was one.

Really need to know the year model. Then any Suzi-sperts can chime in.

Just remember: 24:1 won't harm a 50:1 engine, but 50:1 in a 24:1 engine might be trouble.

I cant find a model number on it, so I am not sure of the year. All I have is that is a 2 stoke and a 5 hp. Looks in good condition. I do not know if they make them anymore either.

Try a tank at 25:1 and see how bad it smokes . If it looks like it is on fire tyr the other mixture. While running 50:1 check the heat around the plug by touching the block { carefully} if it is really hot shut it down and mix it 25:1.
Definately not the right way but it will answer the question.
