I picked up a new 2 stroke 5 hp nissan motor last week and need to run it in. I started it in a drum and let it idle for about 10 minutes on 20-1 mix and I'm now ready to put it on the boat and take it out on the lake. How critical is the brake in? the manual says 10 minutes to 2 hours at 1/2 throttle or less then 2 to 3 hours at less than 3/4 throttle and then 3 to 10 hours at 3/4 throttle, that seems like a lot of variation in times. My question is how important is break in and should I go for the longer times or the shorter times?<br /> Thanks
