2 stroke 25 hp will only run with primer pulled

i have a 2000 model 2 stroke 25 hp motor that is eating my lunch... i bought the boat about a month ago and took it to a small local lake to test out. it started fine and ran good until under a load it would die now after replacing bulb and fuel line it wont run unless the primer is pulled. i am a diesel mechanic so this is really irritating to not be able to figure it out any input is greatly appreciated

Must be time to clean the carb and test the fuel pump. Varnish and/or dirt have probly blocked the jets or the fuel pump is not pumping as it should. Use a clear plastic hose and place it from the pump to the carb and see if it is pumping any air bubbles from a air leak. Make sure the fuel tank vent is open and not blocked. Check the pickup screen in the tank for blockage. Metal tanks will rust on the inside and can plug up the works. JMO

I pulled the carb I and it seemed to be clean no blocked jets or old gummy fuel for some reason when it dies if I pull the fuel line off of the carb it's dry I have replace the bulb and all new fuel line but there is still a restriction I think
