i bought a 1990 Bayliner Capri this year with Force 85hp motor and have two questions.

1. I have to keep charging my battery all the time. Why is my battery power draining?

2. how do I winterize my motor/boat?

Thanks. much appreciated.

A radio that has a clock in it will kill your battery and some depth finders never completly shut down.
Turn off everything in the boat, disconnect the battery, hook a test light between the neg.terminal and the end of the cable. If the light comes on then something is draining your battery.
If it does then start removing fuses one by one.
Get the battery tested. You have a volt meter in the dash? no,get a multimeter and check voltage at the positive terminal.Check when off then check when running.
Then the regulator is probably bad.Get a manual and start running tests.
Fill out the profile, someone might live close that can help.
If you fix it post your results.J

Part 2:Winterize.Add fuel stabilizers.Fog the motor.Change the gear oil.
Out boards drain themself. You can run anti freeze through the system.I don't usually.Don't use auto antifreeze.
Use spray white lithium grease on the steering cable.Turn the motor a couple of times to get it covered.J
