My test worked so I'll try again.

I have a '75 5.7L omc (remanu. long block 50hrs) pts ign.
23' mako CC

I have set the timing w/a vacuum guage.
The timing tab is missing off of a aftermarket timming chain cover.
Is this good enough?
Starts great, idles great, no pinging at speed.

Also the reman. says to replace the advance springs in the dist.
I see the brp parts list shows 2 (identified by color)
Which is correct set? Cant tell the color on the current ones.

Do they break often?
If they do will she blow up?

The old harmonic ballancer was wobbly.
I replaced it w/a 8".
Now I see there are 2 "other" sizes.
Not sure of the old size.
Will a larger HB be bad?

Thanks for all replies.

1. Get the right vibration dampner for your engine.
2. Find a different counter person for your timing tab, Here is what it looks like. You need a 7" dampner for your engine and the tab in this link.
